About

The Lord Is My Shotgun is a morally bankrupt action film about a hard-bitten, take no shit detective who's reached the end of his chain.

Opening just after a robbery gone wrong four goons stand between this violent, vigilante, vengeful cop and the carpark exit - his imaginary salvation - but real damnation.

Was there a point? Shot well, but where is the story??????

Marc Windon. Congratulations on your vision for this short film. A DOP who knows what he doing. 'The Razor's Edge' was similarly rewarding.
A visual feast mate.

Congrats on a skillfully executed piece of filmmaking guys - beautifully shot and directed. Great fluid choreography between camera and action to max out suspense. Within this genre, you've nailed it - looking forward to the next instalment or the bigger picture.

There's nothing like the internet to anonymously (well not since they started to indicate who posted comments) plug your own work... I think this is a crap short film.

Alice Wood Saturday, January 27, 2007 1:55:08 AM

the cinematography's great, but the story... wait, was there a story? Seemed it was just made for the excuse to use guns and blood.

Spyros Acebos Tuesday, January 09, 2007 4:19:43 PM

There's nothing like the internet to anonymously bag out people's work... I think this is a great short film.

Darrin Hanley Monday, January 08, 2007 8:40:38 AM

Yep.. This stinks to high heavens.... I see no redeeming qualities here at all... and the TO BE CONTINUED is the biggest insult.... Oh well I am sure your parents would be proud.....

Dean Preston Saturday, December 30, 2006 4:45:45 PM

Great photography but where's the script? Sometimes great horror/suspence is what you don't see. Hopefully the next installment has at least some meaningful dialogue and we know what the hell is going on!

Aris Rolston Friday, December 01, 2006 10:20:31 AM

It's obvious you have a bit of funding to shoot in a good format and afford guns and squibs and 35mm film, so why not spend a little more effort into crafting a better story? This film just comes across as showreel/ calling card stuff, and frankly, we've all seen this type of action film before. In other words, it's old. Films are more than just action sequences, hope you keep that in mind. ~Aris

bit of a blood bath but who cares the photographic direction was outstanding, well done gabriel and marc

Robert Mako Thursday, November 30, 2006 8:27:40 AM

Awesome. That's some harboiled 'inappropriate' stuff. Technically very well put together The Lord Is My Shotgun left me wanting to know what would happen next... I can see why some people don't dig it, but i guess you'll never please everyone. 5 Stars.

Spyros Acebos Thursday, November 30, 2006 8:12:00 AM

Very nicely made. Great action. Well done.

Malcolm Lambe Wednesday, November 29, 2006 7:50:45 AM

Pretty corny and I found it too dark to watch. You've squandered the 35mm. What a pity.

Roland Kay-Smith Tuesday, November 28, 2006 12:48:04 PM

Where's that guy that's in all your films? He's cool.

Roland Kay-Smith Tuesday, November 28, 2006 12:46:40 PM

Very intellegent. I like the political commentary. The men in the movie represent military muscle. The terroists; the unseen face of fear, yet behind the mask is a young boy. The government stands tall and inflicts as much violence, if not more, than the terroists. The innocent women the victims. Genius.

Spyros Acebos Saturday, August 26, 2006 9:46:29 AM

I disagree with the two below comments. This movie is great! And I don't have a problem with the story. It says TO BE CONTINUED at the end so is presumably just a teaser of something bigger. Very cool. Very atmospheric. I dig it.

Benon Koebsch Wednesday, August 23, 2006 12:53:04 PM

it amazes me that people chose to express their creativity in this way. along with the several thousand other films like this, one question springs to mind: why? still, in terms of production and technique this film was excellent. in terms of script, well, a three year old could write better. how about this alternate ending: the cop kills all of them, gets shot in the leg, stumbles outside only to be struck down dead by a bus? at least it would portray the notion of karma.

Seth Gecko Tuesday, August 22, 2006 10:58:47 PM

So much time and effort went into the production of this film, its a shame, couldn't be said about the lack of imagination in the script.

Spyros Acebos Sunday, August 20, 2006 10:42:13 AM

i can dig it.
