"I hate you" was written, shot and edited in 6 days for fun. I have worked on a feature with everyone in the film, and they all remain close friends and I was so pleased they wanted to be in it.
I just wanted to make something random that people would laugh at. I was finding the quality of independent shorts out there to be a little bland and samey so in a huff of frustration I got together with a friend and made it. This was the second short I have made, and it always makes me smile when I watch it now.

On what was to be a normal drive to work, a man named John Doe rediscovers his long lost drive.
“The Last Drive of John Doe” revolves around the character of John Doe (Marc Kay) in many ways literally awaking to the fact that he is trapped in his cyclical life. Stuck in his car on what seems is a never-ending commute, he is reminded of his servitude by the controlling voice of his speakerphone (Abbey Wong) representing what is to be interpreted as his secretary but on another level the voice of his mother, technology and Big Brother. I wanted to show the extent of the character’s desire to break free by having it expressed through the simplest of victories over the system, that of beating a set of traffic lights. Eventually this search for triumph leads him to skipping work altogether and into dangerously unstable territory that will either set him free or kill him.
The film was a second-year project for Macquarie University. It was my first time as director. Please hold your gasps. As a result I do think I could have done better at a lot of levels, but it’s a tribute to our madcap crew that through some innovative editing we ended up getting our story across. Otherwise it is a good summation of our cumulative efforts at the time to end up with a film that might not be the most perfect of construction but still highly enjoyed all round. I credit most of this to the fantastic performance that Marc Kay gave us, who took the role of John Doe and made it more alive than I could have imagined. Through his enigmatic performance working off Abbey Wong’s vocal delivery, an audience is drawn to see what limits this character will take its desperate desire of freedom to.

It is said that there is the real world, the imaginary world, and the world that lies somewhere in-between. This exciting thriller exists in that world, shocking the audiences with revelation after revelation right up until the final killer twist.

A day in the life of a very odd Salesman...Real Estate Agent, Robert Kensington is your typical go-getter, do whatever it takes salesman who works hard for his sales. The catch? He has a unique product – street corners.
Have you have ever walked to work and seen the same homeless person in the same location day after day and wondered how they got there? For me this question created the idea for “For Sale” a light hearted comedy meant to poke fun at the persistent salesman who will do whatever it takes to make his next big sale.
Shot on a DV camera in mockumentary style, we follow the character of Robert Kensington as he hits the streets of Sydney, Australia to find that perfect match for his clients.
