DepicT! ‘07 Shortlist Now Online

Depict! is drawing closer to the final, with more than 400 entries received for this year's competition.

With a record number of 428 entries, choosing this year’s DepicT! shortlist was a mammoth task, and we hope that you enjoy this selection of super shorts as much as we do. You can view them at http://www.depict.org/shortlists/206/.

This year’s winner will be chosen by a panel of figures from all areas of the film industry, including director Royston Tan and Aardman Animations’ David Sproxton. They will meet during Encounters to choose the film that they feel best evidences originality, imagination and the ability to engage the audience in a mere 90 seconds or less. The winner will be announced and presented with the main award of £2000 at the Encounters Awards Ceremony on Sat 24 Nov.

When you visit http://www.depict.org to watch this year’s shortlisted films, we hope you’ll leave your comments and score the films to help decide this year’s Audience Award winner (rating is open through Fri 23 Nov).

We’ve teamed up with our friends at Shooting People to present this year’s award to the best film as chosen by you, and the winner will not only receive a copy of the recently published Get Your Short Film Funded, Made and Seen along with Shooting People DVD releases Best vs Best Vols. One and Two, but also a lifetime membership to Shooting People. The winner will be announced alongside the main DepicT! Award at the Encounters Awards Ceremony on Sat 24 Nov.

DepicT! is a Watershed project as part of Encounters International Short Film Festival supported by Aardman Animations, Films@59, Arts Alliance Media, BBC Film Network and Shooting People.
